Winter Sports Achievements

Our 2024-2025 Winter Sports Season has been heating up lately with some exciting achievements!

Basketball

Earlier in the season, Evelyn Shane ’26 became Ursuline’s fourth basketball player in program history to score 1,000 career points. Only a junior, there was no question that her career points would continue to climb, yet it was still exciting when earlier this month Evelyn broke Ursuline’s all-time scoring record, surpassing the previous record set by Hannah Weisbrod ’13 in her senior season.

This achievement comes in addition to an incredible season for the Bears so far, with a current record of 20-3. Their next game will take place on Thursday, February 20!

Dance

The UA Dance Team traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete in the NDA Nationals competition, where they earned some incredible accolades. After advancing to the finals in both jazz and pom, the Bears brought home a 6th Overall finish in medium jazz and 14th Overall in medium pom, the team's highest National rankings to date! In addition to these awards, the team earned NDA’s Go Be Great award, a prestigious honor that recognizes teams who go beyond the dance floor—making a difference through community service, leadership, and meaningful contributions. The Dance team heads to the MDTA State competition next!

Swim & Dive

After coming off a great season last year, sophomore Kennedy Chrun '27 has returned to breaking school records. Recently she shattered not one, not two, but three records:
✨ 220 Medley Relay
✨ 200 Yard IM
✨ Breaststroke

The same day, at the GISL Conference Championships, Kennedy along with Emma Stremlau '28, Jessa Lee '26, and Amalie Gierasch '25 broke the Ursuline Academy Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay school record with a new record of: 2:00.32!

Freshman Grace Travers '28 has qualified for the State Dive Meet, the first Ursuline diver in 25 years to advance to State. All season Grace has continued to climb ahead with her performances, including most recently at the District Meet, to her First Place finish in the dive meet earlier in the season. She competes in the State tournament on February 21-22.

Congratulations to all of these incredible athletes, teams and Bears for their hard work and amazing accomplishments! Go Bears!
