On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the Ursuline’s Varsity Volleyball team took on Lutheran South at home and during the game, Junior Elizabeth (Biff) Koenig reached a milestone in her athletic career. Koenig secured 1,000 assists on the UA court. With the help of Koenig’s assists, the Bears secured a victory over Lutheran South in three sets, upping their record to 17-7-2.

“I love volleyball because of the friendships it builds, the way it’s pushes me to be a better player and person on and off the court, and the long-lasting memories it creates.”

Girls volleyball district play in Missouri just began with the Ursuline Bears aiming for another shot at the state title. During the ’23 season, Ursuline Academy brought home 2nd place in the MSHSAA Class 3 State Tournament, propelling the team into a new Class (Class 5 District 1) for the ’24 season.

In 2023, Koenig was selected for numerous recognitions including the GISL Volleyball All-Conference (Second Team), the Class 3 State Volleyball All-Championship Team by Prep Dig, and the MHSVCA All-State Team for Class 3.

The Ursuline Academy Bears play next on Monday, October 28 for the final round of districts. For details on upcoming games, visit our MSHSAA profile.

At Ursuline Academy, athletes are formed in an environment that values each member of the team and teaches the importance of each role. Participation in sports teaches players all about work ethic: that hard work, repetition, and constant practice are the keys to successful performance, both on the field and in the classroom.
