Diane Grimsley ’88 | Board of Trustees

Ursuline has always been a force for empowering young ladies to be or do anything they want to be or do in life.  I LOVE being able to carry on that legacy. -- Diane Grimsley ’88

We are blessed to have so many people helping Ursuline Academy provide the best possible experience for today’s Bears. One group critical to our work that we don’t often talk about is the Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of alumnae and past parents who have responsibility for proper governance of the Academy, strategic planning, and financial oversight.

Diane Grimsley ‘88 has been a Board member for two years and in that short period of time, has made a significant impact. As a Senior Project Manager at Tarlton Corporation, Diane embodies the opportunities available in fields not traditionally pursued by women, a topic that she enthusiastically discussed with our students on Career Day!

As a member of the Board and Chair of the Buildings & Grounds Committee, Diane has used her expertise to help us manage facility maintenance costs and is currently leading efforts to better utilize existing spaces on campus. The time and effort she has shared with Ursuline have greatly enhanced the students’ daily experience.

Diane recognizes that her role as a Board member involves asking the hard questions at a meeting, to make sure we stay on track. And, aware of how important fundraising is to the Academy’s future, Diane has also chosen to make a meaningful financial contribution to Ursuline.

How did Diane get involved? It was through a classmate who thought that she had a lot to offer. The best things happen when members of our community invite others they know to help today’s Bears! Everyone at Ursuline has benefited from Diane’s time on the Board and we’re extremely grateful to her.

What a rewarding opportunity to be able to apply many of the skills I use every day in my career to help an institution that inspired me.  I am grateful to be able to help guide the B&G team through efficient planning so that the maximum amount of resources can be allocated towards the enhancement of the student experience.
